The Violet Line Or Line 6 Of the Delhi Metro map Route is one of the 9 Lines of the DMRC, a rapid transit system in Delhi, India. The line connects Kashmere Gate station in New Delhi to Raja Nahar Singh in Ballabhgarh via Faridabad. The violet line has 34 metro stations with a total length of 43.285 kilometers (26.896 mi).
The section of the Central Secretariat – Sarita Vihar Line was opened on 3 October 2010 and extended to Badarpur on 14 January 2011 by DMRC. This Line 6 was extended from Central Secretariat to Mandi House on 26 June 2014 and extended to ITO on 8 December 2015. On 28 May 2017, the violet line was further extended to the Kashmiri Gate Metro Station via Delhi Gate, Jama Masjid, and Red Fort.
The area between ITO and Kashmiri Gate Metro Station is known as Heritage Line. The line serves as a parallel link for those traveling on the heavily used Yellow Line and connecting the interior of South Delhi, a small town in central Delhi to the satellite city of Faridabad.
An extension to the south of Escorts Mujesar in Faridabad was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 6 September 2015. The extension south of Raja Nahar Singh in Ballabhgarh was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 19 November 2018.
